Trina Radske-Suchan, PT, CSCS

President, CHPcommunity

Trina Radske-Suchan serves as the President of CHPcommunity. She received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa. Trina works with partners initiating community health improvement strategies and state and national best practices to address chronic disease, falls prevention, food security, and health disparities. Trina leads the Clive Community Health + Wellness Initiative to increase the health and well-being of Clive Residents with an emphasis on improved nutrition, physical activity, and mental health. She is also working with state and national partners to build a Hub for the expansion and sustainability of statewide evidence-based programs.

Evidence-based programs offer proven ways to promote health and prevent disease. They are based on research and provide documented health benefits, so individuals can be confident they work.

Liz graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program at the University of Des Moines, focusing on Community Health Education and Promotion. She previously worked as a health coach with Profile by Sanford, and is now employed as a Substance Use Policy and Services Integration Coordinator working with NuCara Pharmacy and the Iowa Department of Public Health.  She began her internship with CHPcommunity in January of 2020 assisting with various projects both community- and state-wide.

Scott C. Cirksena

Mayor, City of Clive

Mayor Cirksena was first elected to the Clive City Council in 2003 and was re-elected to a second four- year term in 2007. He was subsequently elected to the position of Mayor in 2010 and re-elected to a third four-year term in 2017. He serves on the board of directors for Bravo Greater Des Moines and on the boards of the Metro Advisory Council, Dallas County Mayors, the Mid-Iowa Association of Local Governments, the Central Iowa Regional Drinking Water Commission, serves as Development Director for the Dallas County Foundation and is President of the Clive Community Foundation. Mayor Cirksena also served on the Governor’s Transportation 2020 Advisory Committee in 2011, the State of Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council/Transportation Land Use Committee in 2007 and the Des Moines International Airport Master Plan Review Committee in 2007. He is a member of the Iowa Motor Truck Association, has served as President of the Clive Lions Club and currently serves as Immediate Past President. He was also selected as Clive Citizen of the Year in 2007 and a Des Moines Business Record.

Forty Under 40 award recipient in 2003.

Mayor Cirksena obtained a BA degree in Pre-Law from Grand View College, Des Moines, Iowa in 1988 and an MA degree in Management from Webster University, Kansas City, MO Campus, in 2001.

Scott and his wife Julie have a daughter, Mackenzie and son, Benjamin.

Dylan DeClerck

Founder and Executive Director, Opportunity on Deck

As a high school student at the age of 16, Dylan DeClerck spent the summer creating a baseball league, called Opportunity on Deck, to allow underserved and underprivileged elementary aged girls and boys to participate in a free sports experience. Since 2012 Dylan has served as the executive director of the organization and has helped grow the organization to serve thousands of participants, expand throughout central Iowa and offer a variety of youth development programs all without charging a single family. When Dylan isn’t focused on growing and improving Opportunity on Deck, he enjoys playing professional ultimate frisbee for the Minnesota Wind Chill.
