Introduction to Urban Poling – Dallas Center, IA
August 28 @ 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm
Urban poling, also known as Nordic walking, fitness walking, or pole walking, is a low-impact, full-body workout that can be done anywhere you can walk. Mary LaBarre, PT, is the Program Coordinator at CHPcommunity and she will do a brief 10-15 min basic review of the poles, help get people fitted with poles, and then will lead a 20-30 min walk on the bike trail.
Urban poling benefits include:
o Improve stability, balance and confidence while walking
o Feel more supported by the poles
o Less Pain! Unload weight and stress off hips, knees, and ankles
o Promotes an upright posture
Urban Poling is a great workout for adults of any fitness level. Come and try them out!
